Board of Trustees & Staff

Clearbrook Waterworks is governed by an elected Board of Trustees. The Trustees are dedicated individuals who are committed to the sound oversight and responsible direction of Clearbrook Waterworks District. The Board reviews financial and operational reports from management staff at monthly Board meetings.

The District is operated by a staff that is passionate about the value of water and diligent in the execution of their duties.

Quentin Fincaryk


Quentin, our newest trustee, currently serves as Development Director at Trinity Western University. Quentin and his family enjoy traveling, movies and playing board games.

Gerda Fandrich


Gerda has had extensive involvement in the Abbotsford community. She served on the Abbotsford School Board for 23 years as well as on numerous community boards. In 2008 she was chosen the Abbotsford/Mission Woman of the Year. Gerda appreciates Clearbrook's excellent water and everyone who helps it to be recognized as the Best Tasting Municipal Water in the World. She enjoys her grandchildren, travelling, and books.

Jeevan Nijjar


Jeevan was born and raised in Abbotsford and has been a proud user of CWD water for almost two years. He divides his time between working at the Royal Bank and as a property manager in the Abbotsford/Mission area. For fun, he likes to read, play just about any sport, and spend time with family and friends.

Matt Thiessen


Matt joined the Clearbrook Waterworks Board of Trustees in 2016, although he’s been enjoying its water for a decade, having lived in the district since 2006. He is a loving husband and father to 5 beautiful, busy children. He works in Abbotsford as a Realtor, is a member of Northview Community Church, and coaches basketball at MEI with his wife.

Jason HildebrandtCorporate Administrator, WDSO II


Jason moved to the District as a child and has spent the majority of his adult life living in and around Abbotsford. A husband and a father of four, Jason’s free time is spent with family. Coaching football, praciticing Brazilian jiu-jitsu and sports are a few of his favourite things. Jason began his career with CWD in 2008 as a system operator. He shares a passion for water and a love of people with the rest of the staff at CWD.

Danette Haar Financial Administrator CPA, CGA BIO

Danette joined Clearbrook Waterworks in 2011and enjoys the work life balance that CWD offers. Danette loves to spend her time with her family while enjoying the great outdoors. With two boys in the early French immersion program Danette and her husband are trying hard to learn some French. C’est difficile…

James Wiens Field Supervisor, WDSO II BIO

James has been with Clearbrook Waterworks since 2008 and has lived in the District since 2011. He grew up in Abbotsford, graduating in 2001. James has a young daughter who keeps him on his toes. When he’s not working, James likes to get outdoors where he enjoys hitting the trails on his quad. James truly loves his job and looks forward to many more years with the District.

Ryan Federau Water Quality Technician, WDSO II BIO

Ryan has been a fixture here at Clearbrook Waterworks since 2006. He grew up on a chicken farm and spent summers picking raspberries, after which he spent several years as a brick mason's apprentice. Ryan currently lives in the District with his wife and their dog. When he has free time, Ryan enjoys cooking, gardening, camping, slo-pitch baseball, hunting, and telling bad jokes.

David McWilliams WDSO I

                               David joined CWD in 2017 and brings journeyman plumbing experience to the team. He is the 8th of 12 children and was raised in Mission. David moved to Abbotsford in 2012. He enjoys drumming, gardening, hockey, and soccer but he loves spending most of his time with his wife and baby boy. At work, he can be heard whistling, singing Christmas carols and cracking dad jokes. David is proud to round out the tight-knit field crew.
